Abstract: The technique of laparoscopic ovariectomy in the bitch is laid down. Specific equipment, anaesthetic and surgical procedures are required. The advent of new devices that improve haemostasis increases comfort and reduces the operating time. Commonly performed using three abdominal approaches, ovariectomy may nevertheless be performed using two or even one approach and thus requires the use of a transfixing sutures or special entry devices. Specific complications of laparoscopic ovariectomy such as insertion splenic lesions or bleeding of the mesovarium are infrequent.
