Titre anglais : Urinary incontinence and its complications in an eleven-year-old Boulonnais gelding.

An eleven-year-old Boulonnais gelding was presented for exploration of urinary incontinence of four-year duration (place and date not given). The incontinence was confirmed during clinical examination, which also revealed moderate ataxia of the hind limbs. The cause of the symptoms was undetermined. A lumbosacral trauma or less likely a nervous form of rhinopneumonitis affecting the peripheral motor neurons of the bladder was suspected. Cystitis and bilateral pyelonephritis were diagnosed using ancillary tests. These disorders are frequently observed in urinary incontinent cases resulting in a vicious cycle that is difficult to manage.
