Titre anglais : Lithiasis of the upper urinary tract in cats: medical treatment.

Abstract: There is quasi-consensus on the treatment of pyelitic lithiasis. In the absence of infection and/or obstruction of urinary flow, medical treatment is recommended in association with nutritional advice. In the presence of obstructive or subobstructive ureteral calculi, firstly medical treatment of short duration is instigated. The objective is to restore a satisfactory state of hydration, treat any infection and to facilitate the passage of calculi. Spontaneous migration of the calculus is thus observed in a small proportion of cats. In cases of persistent ureteral obstruction, surgical treatment is recommended.
