Titre anglais : Repartition of radiographic scores in young horses of the breeds French Trotter and Thoroughbred.

AB: Young horses (1- and 2-years-old) from 3 departments of Basse Normandy and from 4 different breeds were radiographed. This study established an osteoarticular evaluation of Normandy breeding. Horses included had less osteoarticular disorders than 3-years-old saddle horses. Consequently, the definition of radiographic classes (depending on scores) was readjusted according to age and breed. Three classes were defined (vs. 5 in the previous study on 3-years-old horses) and each category represents 30, 40 and 25% of foals, respectively. The objective was to provide a quantified parameter useful for research, breeding and commercialization. The future orientations will focus on evolution and tolerance of abnormal radiographic images found on foals. Finally, it remains to estimate correlation between radiographic scores and performances.
