This book has been written for students and small animal practitioners. The basic concept was to provide a simple, introductory guide to te interpretation of radiographs, illustrating normal anatomy and the more commonly encoutered abnormalities and anomalies. While it is true that different disease entities may cause similar radiographic changes, nonetheless the recognition of certain radiologic signs as indicators of specific disease processes is imortant, especially for the novice. The development of an orderly, logical and consistent approach to the viewings of radiographs is a prerequisite for advancement in the art and science of interpretation.
In attempting to keep the book to a reasonable size at the same time to provide an adequate introduction to the subject, many decisions had to be made as to what to includeand what to exclude.
Such decisions are necessarily arbitrary and subjective; It is understandable, therefore, that the finished product may not please everybody. If, however, this offering proves acceptable and useful to those for whom it is intended, the effort expended in its prodiction will have been adequately rewarded.
